SREBRENICA: COMMEMORATION AND PHOTO EXIBIT, by Lisa DiCaprio. Sunday, July 9, 2006, from 5-8pm
Lisa DiCaprio, Visiting Professor of History, Washington and Lee University will share a power point presentation with images from the 10th Commemoration that began on July 9th, 2005 the day on which four trucks arrived from Sarajevo with the 610 coffins to be buried on July 11th. This presentation relates to what we know now about the betrayal of Srebrenica, some of the latest developments in the campaign for justice, and the photo exhibit that educates new generation about what happened during the war in Bosnia.

Curiously, at first, Raccoon Space was the only place in New York city where the 11th anniversary of Srebrenica massacres was remembered - in sharp contrast to the last year's exhibit at the UN and street protest - does Bosnian community in the US have such a short memory? After our example, a commemoration was held by the bosnjaci.net.
