A town in Serb-held Hercegovina close to Croatian coast - actually as close as that it was possible to shell Dubrovnik by heavy artillery from Trebinje.

In 2001, Trebinje was a site for the first (since 1983) re-union of the old WW II partisan fighters from all parts of the former Yugoslavia to celebrate the anniversary of the Sutjeska battle. For regional news from Eastern parts of Republika Srpska check
