The workshop is open to anyone who wishes to be educated about the public health care system in New York. This is a great opportunity to learn about qualification criteria for free or low-cost health insurance and also how to avoid and fix medical debt. Presenters are Elana Berman and Liliana Vaamonde, who both work for the Community Service Society (CSS) of New York. CSS is the lead agency for New York City Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program (MCCAP) in coordination with a large network of non-profit agencies in all five boroughs. NYC MCCAP was designed to help people living in New York navigate the complex health care system. This presentation will specifically target the basic health needs of members of our New York community.
